Director of Business Development and Marketing
Job Description
The Director of Business Development and Marketing (BD&M) is instrumental in the growth of Vulcan Wireless through cultivating new opportunities for the sale of Vulcan Wireless digital radio products. The Director of BD&M creates and directs the execution of the business development vison, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. The Director of BD&M is responsible for driving the contract acquisition process leading to new revenue sources by maintaining positive customer engagement.
This position requires working onsite at our Carlsbad, CA facility.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES U.S. CITIZENSHIP
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
Generate new and follow-on business opportunities related to sale of Vulcan Wireless products, services, and solutions
Qualify business opportunities within existing and prospective clients
Develop and implement capture strategies, analysis of competition, and win strategies
Manage and liaison with executives regarding bids and proposals activities related to request for information, requests for proposal, and other solicitations.
Create and Manage channels of communication with prospective and current customers
Assist in market research and analysis and provide initial analysis of that data as it relates to respective customers
Conduct office calls to targeted customers
Prepare and present opportunity reviews to executive leadership
Responsible for helping customers generate requirements that are applicable to Vulcan Wireless core products, services, and solutions
Develop forecasts and long-range business plans leading to new sales and revenue
Drive the organizations brand strategy, including assistance with possibly redefining and reimagining the organizations current brand strategy to ensure that it is properly aligned with the organizations strategic plan
Administer the organizations digital marketing program, including social media, internal website and email campaigns to ensure brand consistency
Manage marketing distribution channels including website, email, social media, and print
Maximize website performance, track keyword rankings, and implement SEO strategies
Utilize marketing, communication, and insurance platforms such as MailChimp, CodeTwo email signatures, ZyWave, Microsoft Bookings, Pathway, Tarmika, EZLynx, and others to reach marketing goals
Build and manage a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals to supply marketing services
Aid in the creation of proposals
Willing to travel
Other related duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor degree or higher
Business Development/Marketing/Sales experience
Experience working in digital communications
Experience in the government acquisitions process and contracting
Prior bids and proposal experience
Experience identifying and closing business opportunities
Prior management experience
10+ years of experience desired
Salary Range:
157,000 - 224,000
Compensation depends on experience level
